Great for use as a carry-on! It is slim and narrow, allowing it to fit perfectly under the airline seat in front of you. I purchased this pack for a week-long trip of long-day sight-seeing and I used it as my airline carry-on. It was perfect. I was able to organize all my essential take-alongs, and I could still carry it comfortably. Because I am short (5’1″), I did not use the waist belt — the backpack had to be worn at its tightest fitting in order to fit between my head and my butt. But I expected that.
