Great replacement wheels for my Samsonite luggage. During a recent trip 2 of the 4 wheels on my large Samsonite spinner luggage broke. When I returned home I looked around for a luggage repair shop to repair the wheels. I didn’t find any local repair shop that I felt comfortable with to replace the wheels. The best kit you can buy, has long and short axels The best kit because of the low price AND you get both 30mm and 36mm axels. The only problem I had was one kit had 3 short and 1 long axel which was very easy to take care of with the free Amazon return and with the pick up feature it was simple. The bearings are bone dry so use synthetic oil. These bearings are steel ball bearings, Samsonite used plastic sleeve bearings so these are a huge upgrade.The heads of the axels are too large to allow the plastic covers to go back on but…
All told it’s a nice improvement and I’m glad I gave some more life … I was prepared to use a hacksaw to get riveted axles off of my 15+ old Samsonite luggage bag. And sure enough, that’s what I ended up having to do. If I did this again I’d see about borrowing a Sawzall or a cutting wheel to make things go a lot faster.As others mentioned it took a healthy bit of elbow grease to remove the old,now-cut axles.
