Great ride: comfortable and stable. I had been enjoying using a Ripstik, but I felt the wheels were a bit small, it was easy to have the front wheel catch on a crack in the ground. Looking online I saw the WhipTide and thought it might be fun to try out. It beats the Ripstik hands down. Bigger wheels, more stability, and better acceleration. The rear wheel on my Ripstik started to wear down and after using it for a bit the wheel was warm just from the friction generated by propelling it forward. There is barely any wear at all…
Pleasure ride Fantastic! My boys ride their bikes and now I can keep up with them. The dual caster, dual deck design allows for tighter turns and more stability at lower speeds. It feels just like snowboarding, so much so, that after riding for a summer I actually improved on the slopes. I am nearly 40 and this was easy to learn and is fun to ride, even uphill! Less then a year ago I got Ripstick for myself (I’m 32) and for my son (he’s 10). We both like it very much and have constant debates who’s going to ride it.A week ago we got Whiptide. As was expected it rides smoother, makes sharper turns, looks more sophisticated (especially black, which I got) and built better then Ripstick.On the other hand it doesn’t go faster then Ripstick (nor slower), you can not lift nose to go over cracks or on the sidewalk.
